October 16, 2026
Well, I knew this was going to be a challenging week. I didn’t, however, realize just how challenging it was going to be. Time just wasn’t on my side all week. I needed extra hours in the day and maybe even an extra day for the week to tackle everything I needed to get done. Anyone have a blue police box handy?
I managed to finish the chapter of the dark YA, and started on the next one. However, even though I have a plan for this chapter, I haven’t been able to get the time to write it. Two pages. That’s all I managed to log in the chapter this week. The YA drama didn’t get a single page either. In fact, to put into perspective just how busy this week has been, my middle grade monster academia. The one that has been moving along easily. The one that behaves itself. I managed three pages all week.
Yeah. Yikes.
Like I said at the start of the month: October is nightmarishly busy, and this week has been the absolute busiest so far. But the blitz is coming to an end. I just need to get through an event on Saturday and cut down this tree Sunday, and then I don’t think I have anything too demanding all next week. At least, too demanding by October standards.
In other writing news, I managed to get into a brand new independent bookstore. The owner purchased copies of both Tír na nÓg and Hidden Creek. Now dread competes with excitement because they are officially in the wild now.
That’s about all there is to say about this week. It’s been one massive time sink. Hopefully, next week is easier on me and I can get things done.
And a final note: Happy birthday to Oscar Wilde and Dame Angela Lansbury.
